Idea for Mobile Content Challenge - Version 2????

This post was late for 2 days. I would like to post it on Sunday night actually but I had too much things to be handled on Sunday night. As I mentioned before that before my partner and I wanted to develop a game for Mobile Content Challenge but we were advised not to do so if we really want to win the contest. Sunday, after lunch, Mr. Boh (my Python trainer) suggested several ideas to us. The idea was great. Hopefully we can implement it. Thanks to Mr. Boh for providing such wonderful and great ideas for us. Hope we can do well in this contest...

Idea for Mobile Content Challenge????

I wanna participate in Mobile Content Challenge. So, I have partner up with Chan Yunn Chyuan. But still lack of idea, I have been thinking lots of ideas, such as creating contacts using capturing image of business cards, spam the sms message by contents, creating games similar to tomogachi or pet society, detect the bus position and inform about the arrival of bus, etc.

Today I had a discussion with Jefery Chua who has a very good knowledge and experience in similar contest. He was the winner of Creator Invention Program. He has provided some ideas on how to provide a very good proposal, how to do any strategies to win the contest, and how to organize the ideas, etc. Thanks to his help, we have better image and concept about the contest. Hopefully my partner and I will come out with better idea and can rush for the contest. I really hope to develop something different and hope to enter the contest. But why seems like I am lack of Ideas???? Quite disappointing of myself. Tomorrow I will try discuss with my partner again. Hope we can come out with an idea suddenly...

Start of Python Short Course in UMP

This is my first time organize the program and it's also considered the first program running. I thought it will be many participants according to their agreement of paying commitment fees. Still they were yet to appeared in labs too... Thanks to Marcus, Jeremy, Firdaus, Boh, Ng Swee Meng, and others who are willing to come to UMP and spending their precious time teaching us Python. It's quite sad that just only less than 50% of the expected amount of participants coming for the first day. I think I have mentioned that it's the first day of Puasa (fasting month) to all the participants before they gave me the names. However, those who have participated the workshop are quite happy and very interested in learning Python. Thanks to the trainers again. I'm sincerely apologize for not organizing the events well or as expected. Hoping tomorrow the participants will get more and more. Besides that, there are a few committee members are really in a very great help in this program: Lee Wei De, Iqbal, Chan Yunn Chyuan... Thanks to them the program run smoothly (I think so).... Really appreciate their helps... Maybe when I have enough money, I will treat them nice food. Other committee members even though they didn't involve much while the program progressing, I am quite thankful for their helps also. I think this time I am still too new to plan and organize the program. Hopefully will do it better next time.

Since this is the first time learning Python in class, I am quite happy and excited about it. Thanks to Boh who is willing to explain all the concept well. I think he did the great job for the first day. Today I have learned more concept bout the variables in Python, as well as list, tupple and dictionary. There are quite lots of surprise while learning Python today. Hope I can learn more and able to learn more. In Python, the variable doesn't have to be declared since it will be automatically assigned and using pointer style. There are various kind of Python, including C Python using C language Jython which use Java and Python and so on.

Last but not least, the presentation slides prepared by Marcus is quite impressive. Through the slides and the presentation, I just realized that Python really doesn't need to type that much and save time compared to other languages like C,C++,C#, and Java.

Conclusion for today is there are still lots more that I have to learn in my life time. I am very appreciate for the help from Python.MY. Seeking the next time to organize activities in university. But if really have to organize again, I hope to be well organized and make it more better and successful than this time...

First ACM Student Chapter Meeting in UMP

It's happy to announce that UMP has ACM Student Chapter even though it still haven't officially announced nor published. This is my first time being secretary of the club. I have an assistant for this club, his name is Lee Wei De. These are the board Members of the ACM Student Chapter:

In this meeting, we have discussed a lots about the student activities, recruiting committee members, website, T-shirt, etc... I hope that all activities will be successfully held and going on as planned since it's really benefit us when we wanna get a job later whilst gaining experience. From the official website, I think UMP is the first that having ACM Student Chapter in the university.
Click here to check it. I saw there's one ACM-W Student Chapter is about ACM's Committee on Women in Computing (ACM-W). It's quite interesting but seems like in UMP, I'm the only girl that has the membership of ACM. So it's hard for me to create a new student chapter and the girls in UMP seems like hate to involve in computing environment which I don't know why. Nevermind, I'm still feel honor that I can be involved in ACM Student Chapter as the secretary. Thanks to Reeze for inviting me to join this club and become the board members. For the rest of information, I will try to update a.s.a.p. if Iqbal has done the official website and everything so that I can link it to the official website...

Unhappy day which leads to my good experience

Yesterday was an unhappy day for me. Maybe it's a good experience for me later on. Actually there's a program called Mobile Development Workshop which is supposedly my idea and I was the director of the program. I know that I have handled too much program, but I never said that I want to quit for that program since I have helped and done so much planning for that program. Just because of the vice director of the program done more than I do, I have to let him be the director of the program. That time I still can accept it because I know maybe I really didn't work out that much for this program. But it doesn't mean that I wanna quit this program. At the end, the committee not even listen to my advice. In the end, I was kicked out of the program without notification. Maybe their intentions are good since I have handled too much program so they don't wanna me to involve in this program. But since I have helped so much, they don't even appreciate my help in this program this makes me sad. They don't even apologize after this incident. Since this incident has happened, the relationship with my friend has become worse. I don't wish this to happen. I've tried to make up with him. But it doesn't seem good at all. Because maybe I still couldn't really forgive him for what he had done to me. Or maybe he still think that he's right and doesn't need to explain everything to me. I hope this is my last time to mention bout this incident. I wont mention who's that person because he knows it well. Maybe after a few days, when I have cooled down myself, I will try to make friend with him again. I don't wish this program destroys the relationship between us and we still have 2 more years to be in this university. So what I have decided is next time I have to handle the program by myself. If I couldn't handle, I won't pass it to my friends anymore nor let them handle more than I do.

Student Activities

After finish my Diploma, I hope to organize some student activities in university. Currently I am pursuing my first Degree in Computer Science (Major in Software Engineering). There are several activities I wish to held in the university. Who knows that sudden event that makes all the things delayed. Hope that it wont affect the progress of the activities. Need an urgent plan to continue the activities. I wonder if I can held the security workshop successfully or not. It's quite urgent since it will be held on 15, 16 August 2009 according to schedule. Just a week time to prepare everything. Will it be successful??? Worrying too much doesn't help much. Tomorrow have to go back to the university. Monday will be a busy day and next week will be a busy week since I will take part in the ACM National Programming Contest and organizing security workshop. Hope everything will go on as planned...

First Day Blogging

Hi! This is the first time writing blog. Why I decide to sign up for blog??? The reason is quite funny. It's because my mum want me to host a web site... But why blogging??? Cox I'm not so good in design web site and host it... That's why I'm thinking if I write a blog to advertise the products or tell people that I'm selling something / providing some services and need support from friends... Maybe it's the first step for me to start advertise any products or services...

Actually now I'm general insurance agent for Etiqa and also life insurance agent for Allianz... What are the benefits of these insurances??? I will keep it for the next blog... If you are interested, you can just search from Google or any other search engine for it...

I think that's all for my first blog... As for next blog??? I don't know when I will write it.... Perhaps it's tomorrow....
